about

I feel privileged that Free Floating debuted the work of daniel robert lahey, both with his track “Being Peace” on the Conception compilation and his first album, “breathing may surprise”. Daniel has such a wonderfully nuanced sense of composition and a well developed ear for harmony. Those abilities are on display in this his second Free Floating release.

I could attempt to wax prosaic and throw around a lot of superlatives here, but having just celebrated the 100th birthday of John Cage (as well as the 60th anniversary of his 4’33”), I feel inclined toward silence, and to allow the music (and the space between) to say what needs to be said….
